Casa Leonor is a family run holiday villa in the south of Portugal.
They required a web site which would display details of their villa and the surrounding area.
They wanted it to be easy to use whilst being pleasant on the eye.
A facility for Mandy and Lima at the villa to upload news and web links themselves was required.
They also wanted users to be able to add their own comments as well as upload their own photos from their visits there.
As there was no logo associated with the villa, we had a completely blank canvas to work from. We felt the colours used should reflect a mediteranian feel. The logo was made with a faded sunset dropped into the background.
The site was split up into three main pages; home, area and contact. It seemed natural for the home page to display information about the home itself. The area page gives information about the surrounding area and the contact page allows users to contact Mandy and Lima at the villa.
Each page has a similar structure with the right hand side containing news, web-links, comments and photo albums uploaded by the users. This allows the user to go to every page on the site in just one click.
Any user can add a comment, but to allow any user to upload their own photos was deemed risky as the potential to upload an inappropriate image existed. It was therefore decided that users should have to register first, by entering their name and e-mail address. Their password would then be e-mailed to them to ensure the correct e-mail address had been supplied. Users could then login and upload as many photos as they liked to their own personal photo album which anyone would then be able to view.
An admin facility was required to update the news and web links' section. The admin facility also allows the facility to moderate the comments board and any of the users photo albums.
Easential were excellent with their help and advice and gave me a website that surpased my hopes. All the comments about my website have been excellant.
They produced it with extreme acurracy and a complete understanding of what I needed and wanted. This was even more of an achievement as all this was done online and through the post.
